Today there are dangerous obstacles in the way of peace and reconciliation, and in the attempt to include Colombians without distinction of class, color or race, gender, political or religious beliefs in the great project of peace with social justice.
Colombia has gone through luminous times and dreary eras. Our emancipatory action gave life to a nation that does not end up being the dream country for all. We signed a Peace Agreement, recognized and appreciated worldwide as one of the most serious and comprehensive reconciliation efforts ever undertaken. After more than half a century of internal war, we finally glimpsed a path other than weapons to settle our differences, so that life would never be lost in the attempt to change the political, economic and social situation.
Today there are dangerous obstacles in the way of peace and reconciliation, and in the attempt to include Colombians without distinction of class, color or race, gender, political or religious beliefs in the great project of peace with social justice. The murders of community leaders did not end, the threat from high circles of power is revived, unleashing the demons of paramilitarism, stigmatization for political reasons, persecution and crime.
We warn that Colombia is being governed not from the Nariño Palace, but from the parliamentary bench of the Democratic Center party led by Senator Álvaro Uribe Vélez. From there comes the campaign to destroy the Peace Agreements, the disqualifications and systematic attacks against the Comprehensive System of Truth, Justice, Reparation and Guarantees of Non-Repetition. Disqualification and attempts to defy the high Constitutional and Supreme Courts of Justice come from the Uribista bloc.
Are we witnessing a "soft" coup d'état by elected President Iván Duque on behalf of his own party, the Democratic Center?
In the midst of this offensive against the construction of the new country on the basis of reconciliation, an attempt has been made to cover recognized men and women leaders of the FARC party with ignominy. No attempt to frame us can tarnish the name of those who have given their lives, without any selfish interest, in the name of freedom, of justice, of equality. Our leaders are such, because of their tireless dedication to the interests of the Colombian people. Any attempt to tarnish their names and that of the FARC party will vanish against the walls of altruism that has guided our lives.
Millions of Colombians will rise up in legitimate and legal struggle in defense of the Peace Agreement, in defense of life, in defense of the political, economic, social and cultural rights that are today the heritage of humanity. Colombia changed and changed forever, we will not allow the return of the "democratic security" that left millions of displaced people, thousands of massacres, war, death and desolation.
Plaza Bolívar filled of people in defense of the JEP, the struggle of our brothers in the social Minga for the defense of life, territory and peace, hundreds of demonstrations throughout the country, prove it.
The bright season awaits us, where we will build together with all Colombians the country of participation, culture, full enjoyment of good living.
